The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while at a four-way intersection, another driver made a left turn at 30-40 MPH as a result the contact did not have ample time to stop and crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle causing it to turn 180 degrees during the impact. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. A dealer …

Exterior Lighting ODI 11497693 12/16/2022

While on a road trip for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Interstate 95, the in dash information cluster advised me that the right turn indicator on the vehicle failed. Upon pulling into a service station and inspecting the vehicle it was confirmed that the right rear turn indicator had indeed failed and would no longer illuminate. In addition to the failure of the turn signal the …

Electrical System ODI 11559803 12/12/2023

While stopping at a light, the car will just stall. While driving, the car will stall. This is all a safety issue, especially at night when the car stalls and you have no lights or any way for anybody to see you.

Power Train ODI 11700970 11/22/2025

While driving, I heard a loud clunk and was not able to go forward when stepping on the gas. It then kicked in and could move on for a minute and it happened again. Then it happened again and this time we pulled over and had to call a tow truck. While we were waiting the car rolled even with it being in park, it wasn't until the emergency brake was engaged that the vehicle sto…

No watnings or signs that could've prevented the incident were indicated by the vehicle. 911 was called in to aid in the traffic incident. Call [XXX] from Laredo Police department. Vehicle was pushed by the Police Officer and myself to a near by parking lot where the vehicle was towed to the dealership. D…

Questions

FAQ

Is the 2022 Jeep Cherokee reliable?
Owners have filed 51 safety complaints with NHTSA for the 2022 Jeep Cherokee, most often about power train. Compare the complaint counts across model years above — a year with far more complaints than the model's average is the strongest 'avoid' signal in public data.
Which Jeep Cherokee years should I avoid?
The rule of thumb used by analysts: a model year whose complaint count is well above the model's own average (we flag 2× or more) usually had a real manufacturing or design problem — not just noisy reporting. Use the year-by-year strip on this page.
Where do these complaints come from?
Directly from NHTSA, the US government road-safety agency. Any owner can file a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire; NHTSA publishes them as public domain data. We cache each lookup for up to 7 days.
Do complaints mean a recall is coming?
Sometimes. NHTSA opens defect investigations when complaint patterns emerge, and investigations can end in recalls. Check the recalls page for this vehicle to see what has already been recalled.
