Tips for visiting drivers

There is no calendar date, so fit winter tyres for any trip to the Tatras or other hills from November: the rule applies as soon as the road is snow-covered.

Notes: Legal basis cited by Slovak media: Act 8/2009 Coll. on road traffic. OeAMTC says lorries need winter tyres 15 November to 31 March whatever the weather; Your Europe says only on snow or ice. We show the Your Europe wording.
