Tips for visiting drivers

Summer tyres are fine on dry or wet roads, but not on snow, ice or slush: check the forecast before you set off.

Notes: Many tyre-industry pages described the July 2025 change as a new winter tyre requirement. Faerdselsstyrelsen says it is neither a new rule nor a winter tyre requirement, only a clarification. Danish media quote DKK 1,000 per tyre; the authority does not publish an amount.
