The contact's grandson owns a 2022 Dodge Charger. The contact's grandson stated that while changing lanes at an undisclosed speed and making a turn into a right lane; the rear driver-side tire had lost traction and the vehicle had spun out and crashed into the sidewalk, over a curb, and into a street sign where it came to a stop. The vehicle was also inspected by the grandson'…

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2022 Dodge Charger. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 49,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 93,000.

Exterior Lighting ODI 11765526 09/19/2026

The center read “race track” light has water intrusion which will short the circuit and there is no way to drain or dry the light. It appears to be a widespread issue based on what I’ve seen online similar to the Durango.

Electrical System ODI 11765433 09/18/2026

I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring right turn signal malfunction on my 2022 Dodge Charger SXT, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle is experiencing a failure involving the right turn signal. This is concerning because the turn signal is required safety equipment used to communicate turns and lane changes to other motorists. When the signal is not functioning properly, oth…

Air Bags ODI 11761289 09/01/2026

My climate control system and airbags malfunction. This seems to be related to the UConnect system. My vehicle is available for inspection as needed. It has not been to a dealer for inspection yet, but an appointment is scheduled. The warning lamp that comes on as the climate control systems fails tells me the airbag system has failed.

Questions

FAQ

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger reliable?
Owners have filed 16 safety complaints with NHTSA for the 2022 Dodge Charger, most often about electrical system. Compare the complaint counts across model years above — a year with far more complaints than the model's average is the strongest 'avoid' signal in public data.
Which Dodge Charger years should I avoid?
The rule of thumb used by analysts: a model year whose complaint count is well above the model's own average (we flag 2× or more) usually had a real manufacturing or design problem — not just noisy reporting. Use the year-by-year strip on this page.
Where do these complaints come from?
Directly from NHTSA, the US government road-safety agency. Any owner can file a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire; NHTSA publishes them as public domain data. We cache each lookup for up to 7 days.
Do complaints mean a recall is coming?
Sometimes. NHTSA opens defect investigations when complaint patterns emerge, and investigations can end in recalls. Check the recalls page for this vehicle to see what has already been recalled.
