During the winter months, when the temperature is below 30 degrees and the car has been sitting all night, the vehicle has to be run about 5 minutes or one can't go over 15 mph. The RPM's will run at a steady 2000 until the car is warmed up and then can be driven without difficulty. I cannot give a particular date on this occurance. I bought used and happens every winter. I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN FOR A YEAR AND LOVE IT. HOWEVER WHENEVER I SLOW DOWN TO STOP, OR TAKE OFF, I HAVE NOTICED MY DRIVER SEAT WILL GLIDE FORWARD AND SOMETIMES CLICK OR CLUNK, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST BECAUSE I AM A MORE HEAVIER GUY. I STARTED READING MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE NISSIAN WERE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. IT HAS BEEN HAPPING ON AND OFF SINCE ABOUT MARCH 2020 W…

THE CAR HAS IDLING ISSUES AND ISSUES WITH HARD VIBRATIONS IN THE FRONT AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THE RPM'S WERE ADJUSTED BUT THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD IT IS THE WAY THE MOTOR SITS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT HAVING THIS ISSUE WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2018. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR MOVING OR IF I AM TURNING OR WHERE I AM DRI…

Power Train ODI 11445469 12/29/2021

I have been having issues with the transmission in my 2016 Nissan Rogue. At the date of the filing of a class action lawsuit regarding this issue there were 38 complaints lodged with the NHTSA regarding this same issue, for just that year of the model. That total does not include any complaints regarding the Pathfinder, Altima, Infinity, Versa, or Sentry, or prior or consecuti…

Questions

FAQ

Is the 2016 Nissan Rogue reliable?
Owners have filed 541 safety complaints with NHTSA for the 2016 Nissan Rogue, most often about power train. Compare the complaint counts across model years above — a year with far more complaints than the model's average is the strongest 'avoid' signal in public data.
Which Nissan Rogue years should I avoid?
The rule of thumb used by analysts: a model year whose complaint count is well above the model's own average (we flag 2× or more) usually had a real manufacturing or design problem — not just noisy reporting. Use the year-by-year strip on this page.
Where do these complaints come from?
Directly from NHTSA, the US government road-safety agency. Any owner can file a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire; NHTSA publishes them as public domain data. We cache each lookup for up to 7 days.
Do complaints mean a recall is coming?
Sometimes. NHTSA opens defect investigations when complaint patterns emerge, and investigations can end in recalls. Check the recalls page for this vehicle to see what has already been recalled.
