A FEW TIMES WHEN I ATTEMPT TO STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE VECHICLE WOULD NOT STOP EVEN WHEN I HAD THE BRAKES ON. I HAVE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND PUSH DOWN AGAIN TO GET THE CAR TO STOP, ALSO A FEW TIMES WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP THE ENGINE STARTS TO REVVS AS IF IT WANTS TO TAKE OFF, I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY SAID…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA PILOT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CONTACT'S WIFE ADJUSTED THE SUN VISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE AIR BAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT DROVE TO AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER TO TRY TO GET THE AIR BAGS TO DEFLATE. THE CONTA…

WE BOUGHT A "WHITE DIAMOND PEARL" COLOR HONDA PILOT NEW FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP. WE NOTICED PAINT PEELING FROM THE ROOF A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO THAT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. NOW, ABOUT 1/3 OF THE PAINT IS GONE FROM THE ROOF AS IT JUST BLOWS AWAY IN PIECES WHEN I DRIVE. RECENTLY WE NOTICED A NEW SPOT OF PEELING ON THE HOOD THAT WAS BEING HELD IN PLACE BY THE CLEAR BRA. …

Engine ODI 11630971 12/16/2024

We were on our way out of town in May 2022 when the car suddenly idled and wouldn't go past 35 mph. The spark plugs would constantly need replacement and we bought a connector which seemed to make them last longer, but eventually still burn out sooner than they should've. We've had diagnostics through friend mechanics and family and cylinder 2 was the main culprit. We took …

Questions

FAQ

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?
Owners have filed 109 safety complaints with NHTSA for the 2015 Honda Pilot, most often about engine. Compare the complaint counts across model years above — a year with far more complaints than the model's average is the strongest 'avoid' signal in public data.
Which Honda Pilot years should I avoid?
The rule of thumb used by analysts: a model year whose complaint count is well above the model's own average (we flag 2× or more) usually had a real manufacturing or design problem — not just noisy reporting. Use the year-by-year strip on this page.
Where do these complaints come from?
Directly from NHTSA, the US government road-safety agency. Any owner can file a Vehicle Owner Questionnaire; NHTSA publishes them as public domain data. We cache each lookup for up to 7 days.
Do complaints mean a recall is coming?
Sometimes. NHTSA opens defect investigations when complaint patterns emerge, and investigations can end in recalls. Check the recalls page for this vehicle to see what has already been recalled.
