What happened in Lampung Tengah?

A fatal crash involving five vehicles took place in Kampung Ketiau, Way Pengubuan district, Lampung Tengah, at around 7:55 a.m. WIB on Friday 16 October 2026. The vehicles involved were three motorcycles, a truck and a Honda Brio car.

Who was killed and injured?

Two motorcyclists died at the scene. They were identified by the initials HS and LS. Three other people were seriously injured, identified by the initials AW, MF and DP.

How did the crash happen?

According to police, the crash began when two motorcycles, a Honda Vario and a Yamaha Vixion, were travelling in the same direction. With little room to move and the vehicles too close together, the two motorcycles collided, throwing both riders onto the road. A truck and a Honda Brio travelling behind could not avoid the scene, and a third motorcycle was also involved.

What did police do?

Officers from the Lampung Tengah police traffic unit went to the scene and carried out a scene examination. The head of the unit's law-enforcement section, Ipda Maruli Togatorop, said police were investigating and planned to work with the five safety pillars and other agencies as a preventive step. Police urged all road users to take care and put safety first.
