At about 4am on Saturday, a Proton Persona crashed into a cement signboard at the 360 roundabout along Jalan Bundusan. A 28-year-old man was killed, and his passenger went into a coma. The victim was identified as Mohd Nazhwan Nordin from Kunak. The strong impact of the crash caused the steering to bend and the car to be badly wrecked, with the airbags coming off and the bonnet bursting open. A small fire broke out in the car but it was put out by members of the public, who helped pull both victims from the wreck. The car belonged to their friend from Keningau and was believed to be heading home from the KDCA area. A Fire and Rescue team also attended the scene, and Sergeant Unice and Inspector Saparia Ladoni were investigating at the scene.
