If you ride on routes like this

  • Slow down before bends, especially at night: a bend hides what is ahead until the last moment
  • Never ride after drinking — alcohol slows reactions and impairs judgement on every bend
  • Never assume the other vehicle sees you at night or in rain — ride as if it does not
  • Wear a helmet and protective clothing on every ride, however short
  • Know the local emergency number before you travel — our emergency numbers directory covers every country

What happens next

Police will continue the investigation to establish the confirmed cause of the crash, including examining the scene, the condition of the motorcycle, and any witness accounts. If confirmed findings are published, we will update this article.
